There are several places where snowdrops can be enjoyed in Shropshire. I have selected just a few for you to enjoy.
Stanton Lacy Churchyard, near Ludlow, has a beautiful show of Snowdrops around the gravestones. It is a veritable carpet of snowdrops.
On the 10th February there will be refreshments available to purchase which help raise funds for the Church, this event is from 2pm until 4.30pm. And you also get to view the 11th century church of St. Peter’s, which is Grade 1 listed.
Millichope Hall Munslow is part of the National Gardens Scheme and is open on February 11th from 2pm until 5pm. The Entrance fee last year was £6 per person. Tickets and a map can be obtained on the gate. There are 14 acres to explore and you can take along your dog as long as you keep them on a lead. During the week, until Sunday 18th February, the gardens are open daily from 10a.m. until 5pm. These days are not ticketed but a donation at the gate would be appreciated which will provide funds for Countryside Learning. Toilet Fascilities are available. While out at Millichope Hall you could also visit
Shipton Churchyard on the way to Much Wenlock. The church is up on the left hand side as you turn onto the B4378. There is also a wonderful display of snowdrops accompanied by winter aconites. The church of St James is also worth visiting.
Cound Guildhall has a Snowdrop walk on the 27th and 28th February from 11a.m. until 4pm. Soup and a roll, teas, coffee and cakes are available served in the Guildhall by a warming fire, with proceeds being split between the Guildhall and St Peters Church.
Hopefully we will have some sunny days to enjoy the snowdrops and see other early signs of Spring.
