Today we saw a bat flying around the house during the day.
We often see them flying at night and they have been about regularly for a week now.
This was the first time either of us had seen one in the day.
I did a search on line and occasionally you can see them in the day time.
If they are hungry they will fly or if a female is nursing a youngster and is in need of more sustenance.
They may also fly if their roost has been disturbed.
They don’t normally fly during the day because they are at more risk of predation.
I hope our bat was just feeding, it’s flight pattern looked reminiscent of a feeding flight I see them doing at night.
