The British Stone Skimming Championships 2023 are on Sunday 9th July from noon.
Entrance onto the field is free as is parking. There is a bar but the poster advises taking a picnic.
The British Stone Skimming Championships is held at Walcot Lake , Walcot Hall, Lydbury North, Shropshire.
They will be raising money to help support the Royal National Lifeboat Institute and for Health tests.
There are age related categories. Adults will receive four stones for £3, while under 16s will pay £2.50 per set of stones.
There is a minimum requirement of three skims for a stone to count, it has to remain within the lane and the judge’s decision will be final.
What counts is the distance you manage to skim your stone.
You can bring your own stones but I assume you will still be charged for skimming.
There are also other games to play and enjoy relaxing in the beautiful Shropshire countryside at the British Stone Skimming Championships.
