In an earlier post I said the Shrewsbury FlaxMill Maltings would open in Spring 2022. This did not happen.
It has been announced that it will now be opening on September 10th 2022.
Shrewsbury FlaxMill Maltings was built in 1797. The main mill is Grade 1 listed and was the first multi story building.
An exhibition tells the story of the mill and the people who planned, built, and worked there. It also tells its more recent history, of how people campaigned to restore it. There are interactive displays suitable for all ages.
There is a cafe and a gift shop selling sustainable food and drink and local gifts.
There are still buildings on site that need restoring and over the next few years hopefully this will happen.
Tickets to visit the site will be available from Monday 1st August 2022 on the Shrewsbury FlaxMill Maltings website.
