The sun has been shining brightly and the day time temperature has been in the high teens. Friends of mine decided to make the most of the good weather with a trip to Powis Castle.
As they drove up to the car park they spotted some deer in the parkland and decided that a walk rather than visit the house and gardens was the order of the day.
These are their words:-
“We walked slowly and quietly towards the deer and stopped often. They kept a wary eye on us but kept feeding. We both took lots of photos and also stood and watched and enjoyed the moment.
Every time I felt we could not get any nearer we were able to.
Eventually most of the herd trotted gently away – but one stag remained and we stood about 12 metres from him. He looked directly at us every now and again and then went back to grazing.”
“Such a treat to be that close to deer.”
What a wonderful experience and no one else was there to enjoy it.
