Over the coming year there a number of Music Festivals in Shrewsbury. Some are at The Quarry, Shrewsbury’s Park or at Greenhous West Mids Showground which is within easy reach of the town centre.
Shrewsbury Fake Festival will be at The Quarry on Saturday 23rd April 2022 starting at 11.45am until 11pm. The evening line up includes Really Hot Chili Peppers and Oashish. This event will be undercover in a marquee. Early bird tickets are available until 12th March
Shropshire Party in the Park is a new festival for the calendar. It is on Friday 20th May 2022 starting at 5pm until 10pm and Saturday 21st May 2022 starting earlier at 11am until 10pm. Music will be performed by local bands, the line up has not yet been announced. Local food and drink producers will be providing the other essentials of festivals.
Let’s Rock Shrewsbury is at The Quarry all day on the 16th July 2022 . Tickets are from £55.13 including booking fee, VIP tickets are more than this. The line up includes Billy Ocean, Wet Wet Wet, Bad Manners, The Farm and Tenpole Tudor.
Shrewsbury Folk Festival gets a second mention here (see my blog on Folk Festivals). On for four days, August 26th to 29th 2022. Blackie and the Rodeo Kings from Canada will be performing, a favourite of mine, they will also be performing individually. The Roaring Trowmen and Show of Hands, who I first saw many moons ago at Cambridge Folk Festival.
Another new event for the calendar is Proms in the Park at Greenhous West Mids Showground. It starts at 6pm until 10pm on Saturday 10th September 2022. A Shrophire lass will be singing, Holly Teague and an Orchestra made up of local musicians called the The Midlands Proms Orchestra is being set up for the event. There will be all the favourites from Last Night of the Proms performed for you to sing along to or wave your flags. Early bird tickets are available.
