I have been distracted by the butterflies at Folly View in the garden. As we come to the end of Summer and morph into Autumn I enjoy watching the butterfly fluttering by.
I have been cleaning Folly View ready for the next guests and the butterflies are just right in front of me.
They have been all over the dark purple buddleia the garden.
There are Comma’s which have cut away wings and are lovely orange colours with black spots. The Red Admiral’s are mainly red and black and I usually see them on our fallen apple’s and the Comma’s have penchant for over ripe fruit too.
The Large Whites do what they say on the box and the Tortoiseshell have orange, cream, black, Brown and blue colours on their wings. The Tortoiseshells love Buddleias.
We also have Speckled Woods flying around although not landing on the Buddleia. They are a beautiful dark brown with creamy yellow spots. I think they are my favourite butterfly.
We do have other Butterflies visiting Folly View’s garden but the butterflies mentioned above are those I have seen this week. I hope you enjoy watching Butterflies as well.
